Using empirically supported treatments to help you discover and reach your goals
As a clinician, research, supervisor, and professor, I have decades of experience from a wide range of perspectives to help you understand how to change your life. I use both skills training to help make things easier, but also insight to help understand what is blocking you and how best to move forward.
Types of treatment offered
Free initial consult
Because research demonstrates “fit” or a good alliance between the two of us is the most important factor, even in much of medical treatment, we can talk together via zoom or on the phone for 30 minutes to determine if we are a good match. I also have trained dozens of therapists I could refer you to if we are not a good fit.
Individual Therapy
The space allows for 5 people (not including me) with two small couches and two chairs. I use ACT integrated with Gottman’s Marital Therapy for couples or with families I use behavioral techniques supplemented by , communication skills, emotion focused work, and Bowenian Systems theory.
Couples/Family Therapy
I typically use ACT (a CBT or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) integrated with relational theories. Generally this starts with weekly meetings for 1-3 months, and then we either end or move to maintenance after the core skills have been learned. Maintenance typically consists of meeting 1-2 times a month to review progress and troubleshoot the application of skills and considering new insights.
